چکیده

In this paper we derive a formula for divided differences of composite functions of several variables with respect to rectangular grids of points. Letting the points coalesce yields a chain rule for partial derivatives of multivariate functions. Math Subject Classification: 41A05, 65D05, 26A06

Divided differences of implicit functions

Divided differences can be viewed as a discrete analogue of derivatives and are commonly used in approximation theory, see [1] for a survey. Recently, the second author and Lyche established two univariate chain rules for divided differences [2], both of which can be viewed as analogous to Faà di Bruno’s formula for differentiating composite functions [6,7]. One of these formulas was simultaneo...

An Inequality for Divided Differences in High Dimensions

This paper is devoted to an inequality for divided differences in the multivariate case which is similar to the inequality obtained by [J. Pečarić, and M. Rodić Lipanović, On an inequality for divided differences, Asian-European Journal of Mathematics, Vol. 1, No. 1 (2008), 113-120].

Multivariate Output Analysis for Markov Chain Monte Carlo

Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) produces a correlated sample in order to estimate expectations with respect to a target distribution. A fundamental question is when should sampling stop so that we have good estimates of the desired quantities? The key to answering this question lies in assessing the Monte Carlo error through a multivariate Markov chain central limit theorem. However, the multiv...

Application of multivariate techniques in-line with spatial regionalization of AOD over Iran

Application of multivariate techniques in-line with spatial regionalization of AOD over Iran Introduction Models, satellites and terrestrial datasets have been used to detect and characterize aerosol. Nontheless, micoscale classification using remote sensing parameters considers as a deficiency. Thus, regionalizion and modeling aerosol without regard to political boundaries or a specific s...
